Six of the GTA’s most active traditional Islamic organizations came together for their first Monthly GRAND Mawlid. To top it off, this initial grand mawlid happened to fall in the blessed month of the birth of our beloved Messenger (upon him be peace)!
The event was hosted by IMO in collaboration with SeekersHub Toronto, Lote Tree, Risalah, Qurba Academy and Muwasala. Over 1000 people gathered to bless and beautify this new, local tradition.
The idea of a monthly Grand Mawlid was presented to Habib Kadhim al-Saqqaf at IMO during his Canada-wide tour in November of 2012, with hopes of bringing together the larger Muslim community in expressing our love for the beloved Prophet (Allah bless him and grant him peace). Habib Kadhim was delighted to hear of the idea and further endorsed it with a very powerful and blessed du’a.
