Can I Shower With My Child?

Hanafi Fiqh

Answered by Faraz Rabbani

Question

Can I shower with my 18-month-old child? Can my wife do so?

Answer

You and your wife can shower with your child, but you must keep your own nakedness (‘awra) decently covered.

As the child gets older and modesty becomes more emphasized, more caution would be required– and then children should not shower with parents of the opposite sex.

And Allah alone gives success.
