Question: Asalaamu alaikum
If I make a ghusl just to cool off can I pray?
Answer: Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,
I pray that you are in the best of health and faith, insha’Allah.
Yes, if you perform the ritual bath (ghusl), you are considered to be in a state of purification.
In general, if you wash your face, arms up to and including the elbows, wipe your head, and wash your feet up to and including the ankles, you have completed what is obligatory for the ablution (wudu) and can pray.
