Azhar Usman

Azhar Usman is a world-renowned Muslim comedian. He uses his platform to inform people about the issues facing Muslims.

Annual Benefit Luncheon

The luncheon is one of SeekersHub Toronto’s largest annual events, attracting leading community members, teachers, scholars, and activists.

It is a time for Muslims to come together and invest in the future of our families, communities, and society as a whole.

This year, we are blessed to have Azhar Usman performing at the luncheon.

The need to reconnect our community

Today, the Canadian Muslim community is at a generational crossroad. As the elders who established halal grocers and mosques are preparing to pass on the baton, our young community is struggling to feel at home with the places of worship they grew up in.

Qarawiyyin UniversityDay in and day out, they’re troubled by the apparent disconnect between religion and modernity. How do you balance between a full-time job and 18-hour fasts; between family obligations and social activism; between spiritual growth and a busy lifestyle? As their concerns go unaddressed, many end up estranged from religious guidance.

And as the number of Muslims who’ve become “un-mosqued” continues to grow, so does the void between them and their local communities.

How can we reclaim our faith and our communities?

Young students at SeekersHub Toronto gather to learn from Ustadha Shireen Ahmed and Shaykh Faraz Rabbani about marriage in Islam.

SeekersHub Toronto is one of a handful of projects in Canada that seeks to spread reliable, Islamic learning to students of all ages and backgrounds.

By running almost entirely on volunteer power, we can offer all our courses free of cost, and give everyone a chance to combine spirituality with service.

Our hope is to provide a safe space for people to learn, grow, and reconnect to Allah, His Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace), and to the Muslim community.

So, come out on November 1st and show your support at our annual fundraiser, featuring comedian and activist Azhar Usman.
