About Us

“Allah’s religion is vast.  It is for all people, in every time and in every place.”

- Shaykh Yahya Rhodus, The Marvels of the Heart -

Inspiration.  Motivation.  Knowledge. With these three keys, SeekersGuidance will show you how to manifest the guidance of the Qur’an and Prophetic teachings in your own life.

SeekersGuidance, a non-profit Islamic educational portal, makes sound knowledge from reliable scholars available anywhere, at any time, through online courses, on-the-ground seminars, engaging and inspiring Islamic media and direct access to scholars through our Answers service.

Why SeekersGuidance?

In order to benefit you, knowledge must be sound, relevant and accessible.  We at SeekersGuidance are dedicated to helping you to apply the mainstream, traditional understanding of Islam in your day-to-day life.

SeekersGuidance was established to fulfill the communal obligation (fard kifaya) of cultivating individuals and communities through the spread of knowledge.  We take this obligation seriously. It is our goal to reach all segments of the Muslim community, excluding no one, and to operate on a large enough scale that any who wish to learn will have the opportunity.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “The strong believer is more beloved to Allah than the weak believer, although there is good in both.  Be avid for all that benefits.”  For those avid for the benefits of learning their deen, SeekersGuidance is there.

What Are Our Goals?

SeekersGuidance is committed to:
  • Promoting the mainstream understanding of Islam, both outwardly and inwardly
  • Supporting existing scholarship
  • Creating networks between ‘ulema, activists, and communities
  • Promoting female scholarship
  • Preparing current students of knowledge
  • Integrating online learning with on the ground programs

What Are Our Services?

Online Academy. Our Online Academy offers a clear curriculum-based path for students of varying needs and aspirations, taught by highly qualified, well-respected scholars.  400 students per term take part in our growing catalog of courses.

Course features include:

  • Downloadable MP3 files
  • Review questions after each lesson
  • 24/7 access to the instructor via SeekersForum
  • Live Q&A Sessions after every four lessons

Islamcast. Our daily Islamcast provides practical guidance on living the deen of Islam in your daily life.  Sound scholarship and accessible teachers will help you apply the guidance of the Quran and Prophetic teachings (sunna) to living as a Muslim in the 21st century.

Blog. The award winning Blog provides yet another avenue to inspirational — and beneficial — knowledge.

Answers Service. Our free Answers Service lets you ask our scholars questions of concern to you in your own life, or search for relevant answers in our archives.  Our scholars answer around 5,000 answers a year — 10-20 per day!

Seminars. Through our SeekersSeminars programs you can bring our scholars to your own communities for lectures, seminars or workshops.  SeekersGuidance offered 40 weekend seminars in 2009 — contact us at seminars@seekersguidance.org to bring a SeekerSeminar to you in 2010.

Webinars. Live SeekersWebinars bring our scholars into your living room with free, interactive presentations on key facets of Islamic faith and practice.  Our first and very popular Perfecting Prayer Webinar benefited an audience of 500 its first night — and hundreds more in rebroadcasts.
