The Step One Certificate covers the foundational subjects any Muslim needs to know to have clarity on living their faith. This programme begins in February 2018. Space is limited, so registration is required.
8 COURSES will be covered over 3 TERMS;
2 WEEKLY COURSES per term, plus 2 SELF-PACED COURSES.
Classes will be held on Sundays from 1:00-4:00 pm EDT.

The entry point for any seeker of knowledge, Step One: Essentials focuses on the religious knowledge that every Muslim must learn in order to fulfill their personal obligations to Allah Most High. These courses are intended to establish a clear grounding in a spiritual relationship with Allah Most High, as well as a clear understanding of the Islamic scholarly method.
- Importance of defining and preserving religion;
- comprehensive understanding of Allah Most High, His messengers, and the after-life;
- how to apply God-consciousness in worship of Allah Most High;
- comprehensive appreciation for the life of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and his Sunna;
- confident memorization and recitation of the Qur’an’s most oft-used surah (i.e. al-Fatiha, Aya al-Kursi, the last ayat of Sura al-Baqara, and the last 10 surah).
These are courses meant for dedicated students of knowledge, including our Seminary students, and everyone who is keen to deepen their understanding of Islam.

This course track is intended to further the knowledge seeker’s understanding of the subjects covered in Step One Essentials. Learning Islam In-Depth draws on classical primers and works to build on the sciences of Qur’an, Hadith, Islamic Legal Method, Arabic grammar, the Prophetic personality, and more.
- comprehensive understanding of Islamic belief/creed;
- ability to hone and self-correct one’s worship;
- increased appreciation for Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) through his attributes and persona;
- basic overview of applied Islamic legal theory.
